Family Camping Fun

There were so many people at Yosemite over Memorial Day weekend that once you got into the park, you couldn't go anywhere . . . the parking lots were full, the shuttles were full, and all the places you could drive to to see were closed because there was no place left for people to leave their cars. We had a camping spot, but couldn't even go get firewood once we got there! Thankfully there was a hike that was within walking distance to our campsite. It was amazing, but Brie complained the WHOLE way because she was "too tired to go anymore!" And when we were at the campsite, all Gavin wanted to do was play in the street, and he couldn't be convinced otherwise. So one of us had to be right with him the whole time, which made it really difficult to get anything done like setting up camp or cooking dinner. And somehow, being 6 months pregnant with your third baby makes for really really uncomfortable sleeping on the ground . . . not to mention the bears that roam around Yosemite campgrounds at night which causes us to lay in our tent fighting the mental battle of "do I stay here all night with an aching bladder or brave the bears armed only with Lowell's amazing knife." Needles to say, we ended up only staying one night instead of two. We were really sad to leave because it was soooo beautiful and the weather was georgeous. But, as we left the park there was about 4 miles of cars backed up waiting to get into the park and everything inside was already full, so we were glad to be gone. We don't regret the trip though, it was so beautiful.

Another Great Trip to Yosemite

These are just a few of the pretty pictures we were able to get this trip to Yosemite. Despite the crowds it was sooo worth it.
